I Ching (3 coin mini album)

I Ching (3 coin mini album)

The I Ching, or Book of Changes, is an ancient Chinese divination text. Originally, yarrow sticks were the method of consultation. Over time, three cash coins like these Song dynasty examples, were used instead. The coins were cast, values tabulated, and the process repeated to form a specific hexagram, which could be consulted in the I Ching.
